Learn how call credits are deducted and what services are included in this breakdown. From international calls to recordings, uncover the finer details of how your call credits are utilized.

There are two types of credits that Klenty offers when it comes to calls.

  1. Free Call Credits

  2. Purchased Credits

Free Call Credits - Klenty provides 200 minutes of calling per month, for each user in your team, from the moment you enable calling. These credits do not get carried over to the next month.

Note: Free Call Credit is available only on our Paid Plans (Growth & Above)

You can view your free credits balance and the renewal date by heading to Settings-> Calls --> Credits.

The free credits can be used only for making calls and not for purchasing numbers or for text messaging, call recordings, etc.

Say you used up all your free credits for the month and still need to make calls, what will you do?

Then you can purchase credits!

Purchased Credits can be added by you at any time. These credits do not expire and can be used by everyone in your team.

You can refer to this article to learn how to buy credits.

Purchased credits are necessary to:

  • Rent Numbers

  • Make Calls (once the free credits are exhausted)

  • Send Text Messages

  • record calls

Both free and purchased credits are termed as Minutes. These minutes get consumed based on multiple criteria set by Twilio.

Following are the Call credits consumption criteria for:

Free Minutes:

  1. The duration of the connected call (Inbound & Outbound)

  2. The region the call is being made to

  3. The duration of dropped Voice mails

Purchased Minutes:

  1. The duration of the connected call (Inbound & Outbound)

  2. The region the call is being made to

  3. The duration of dropped Voice mails

  4. Call recordings

  5. The storage rent for Call recordings

  6. Rent for the number (if a number was purchased within Klenty)

  7. Recurring charges text messages campaign registration*

  8. Charges for each SMS sent and Received

How does Twilio calculate the charges?

Twilio charges on a “per-minute” basis as opposed to a “sum of all
seconds” basis. All call minutes in decimals are rounded off to the next non-integer value of minutes.

Call duration

Rounded call duration as per Twilio

30 seconds (0.5 minutes)

60 seconds (1 minute)

45 seconds (0.75 minutes)

60 seconds (1 minute)

90 seconds (1.5 minutes)

120 seconds (2 minutes)

150 seconds (2.5 minutes)

180 seconds (3 minutes)

  • 10 calls for 60 seconds would be recognized as (60 x 10)/60 = 10 minutes

  • 10 calls for 30 seconds would be recognized as (60 x 10)/60 = 10 minutes

  • Your total minutes consumed would be 10 + 10 = 20 minutes

Sample Call charges for the US region:

Outbound Call min charges - $0.0140 /min

Client min charges - $0.0040 /min
Recording - $0.0025 /min

Incoming call - $0.0085 / min

Text Messages (SMS) - $0.0079 (Inbound & Outbound)

Rented Local Numbers - $1.15 /month (Recurring Charges)

If you make a 1 min call to the US region from a US number, then the total charges would be $0.0140 + $0.0040 + $0.0025 = $0.0205*

Note: Voice mail charges the same as Outbound calls i.e., $0.0140 /min
